BusyBodyBook Review and Giveaway

Written by valmg on July 29, 2008 – 5:09 pm

Moms have a lot to keep track of. I have to keep track of activities for myself, my husband and two boys. Some of the things I have to track include the boys’ activities, social events, family events, Hinder concerts, special occasions, pta meetings and dates for sports. I have a hard time keeping track of everything without writing it all down. I’ve already accidentally scheduled myself to be in two different places at once because I hadn’t written something down. With the number of reviews and giveaways increasing on this blog I also need to keep track of what I’ve promised to who so that nothing is neglected. When I was offered the opportunity to review a BusyBodyBook, I jumped at the chance.

I received an academic year BusyBodyBook, which is terrific because that means I can start using it right away. The book is 7×10 inches. I love the fact that the BusyBodyBook has thick plastic cover on both sides to protect it. (Sometimes I’m so busy I put things on the table when I need to write and I haven’t wiped off the table yet!) On the inside of each cover is a handy pocket. In the front I found three six month calendars. The next thing in the book was the weekly calendars, which I will get to in a minute. At the back I found a twelve month planning area for the following year, followed by a section for notes and telephone numbers. A bookmark was attached as well.

Back to the weekly calendars. If you’ve ever tried to squeeze everything into a tiny square in a purse planner or on a wall calendar you know it’s impossible to get more than one or two things to fit. My calendar ends up with stars and arrows leading me to other blank areas on the page where I get to look at the hieroglyphics I’ve created and try and figure out what I intended to mean with my own shorthand.

The weekly calendar pages of the BusyBodyBook are set up in a grid. Up top there is a column with the date and five additional columns, with a blank column up top where you can write who or what that column is for. Holidays are already written down on the calendar. I’ve got a column for each child, a column for family, a column for tracking blog review and giveaway dates and a column for everything else. There are enough columns there for most families, but you don’t have to have a family to use it. Anyone could make use of this to track social activities, sporting events, appointments, meal planning, homework assignments, projects, work and personal goals.

The page opposite the weekly calendar contains a to do list and room to write anything you need to. What I thought was really neat on some of these pages were the helpful tips and reminders –things like when the clocks change and that sort of thing.

I recommend the BusyBodyBook. I love mine and would certainly be lost without it! BusyBodyBook organizers are available in either an academic year or calendar year format. Also available are weekly wall calendars and fridge grids (also very cool, I want to get one of these too). BusyBodyBook products are published by About Your Time LLC and are available for purchase for $17.95 on their website at www.busybodybook.com as well as on amazon.com.

BusyBodyBook has been generous enough to offer two BusyBodyBook organizers for this giveaway. That means this giveaway will have two winners! To enter visit the BusyBodyBook website and then leave a comment here on this post stating one feature of the BusyBodyBook that you like and which one you’d choose if you won.

Hurry and enter now - comments close Saturday 08/02/08 at 11:59 pm est. Comments must contain the pieces of information specified to qualify for the contest. The winner will be selected using random.org and will be announced on Sunday 08/03/08. The winner must contact me to confirm they wish to receive the prize within three days of my email notifying them they’ve won. Sorry, US addresses only.

This giveaway is part of the Bloggy Giveaways quarterly carnival. I’m planning at least one giveaway for each day this week, so why not subscribe to my rss feed so you don’t miss anything.

THE GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED.
