Review of Citre Shine Fresh Fusion Pure Energy

I found Citre Shine Fresh Fusion Pure Energy shampoo and conditioner on sale at ShopRite about two weeks ago. I’d never noticed it before so I thought it might be new, but it could also be that it had never been in a case in the middle of the aisle before. Either way, I’m always game to try something new if it’s on sale so I picked up a bottle of the shampoo.
From the website: “Energize dull, lifeless hair with this Pure Energy Shampoo that gently cleanses and nourishes without stripping away essential oils. Leaves hair feeling restored and rejuvenated with incredible shine.”
I tried the shampoo the next day. The first thing I noticed when I poured some of the shampoo out of the bottle into my hand is that it looked more like conditioner than shampoo in my opinion. It was a very thick pearly white color and it had a really nice light citrus scent. I thought the shampoo felt heavier like a conditioner when I applied it and found it didn’t lather up as much as many other shampoos. The shampoo rinsed clean easily. When my hair dried I thought that it felt clean and that it looked clean and had body and more shine than usual. I found that my hair wasn’t quite as shiny after using it for four days, and found I was only pleased if I used it every other shampoo. I did try the conditioner as well and was not so pleased, I thought it made my naturally oily hair look heavier.
I’m in the middle on this product. I think of it as a moisturizing shampoo so I doubt I’ll get it again. If you have dry hair or if you like to try different shampoos you might want to try this one. If you try it, or even currently use it, let me know your thoughts.
