Pledge Furniture Polish review and giveaway
Written by valmg on December 23, 2008 – 11:49 pm
My Mom was never a terrific cleaner. She also worked days and went to school nights. If things needed to be looking their best you’d find Dad getting it done. I did some house cleaning in my late teens to earn some money and I learned that not all cleaning products are created equal. One family I cleaned for felt that their furniture didn’t look as clean as they liked. Coming from a house with lots of wood furniture and a stove as a primary heat source, I knew exactly where to turn. I asked my Dad to teach me the secrets to keeping wood clean and looking its best.
I learned that the first secret to having shiny and clean wood is elbow grease. The second secret is using a good cleaner. You’ve probably heard of Pledge. It’s been around forever. There’s a reason for that. It works. Pledge not only shines and restores dull, dry wood surfaces but it helps protect them from water marks. It’s also good for your health, because it removes the majority of allergens ( a whopping 84% of them) found in the dust and pet dander. That means when you use it the allergens don’t just relocate to another surface, they actually get picked up. To use it just spray it and rub. Clean furniture, no waxy residue and nice scent. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I mean lemon Pledge of course.

The Pledge Extra Moisturizing works perfectly on a desk that I inherited from my grandmother. Its pretty old, and this stuff keeps the wood from drying out and cracking.

I either use the swiffer duster sheets or a plain old wet rag. Probably should be using Pledge, though!
