Review and giveaway of Skin MD Natural Lotion
Written by valmg on June 3, 2008 – 3:38 pm
Skin MD Natural offered me a chance to try their Shielding Lotion recently, which I gladly accepted. I’ve actually been trying different hand lotions recently, so the timing couldn’t have been better. This is a review of the Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion.
I was surprised when I received a small 3cc trial size packet of Skin MD. The tiny square packet said it had enough lotion inside it for 3-5 applications. Having used a number of other lotions I couldn’t believe that one packet would be enough to cover my hands. But I wanted to try this lotion so I cut open a corner of the packet.
The white lotion looked different than other lotions I’ve tried. It didn’t seem so gloopy and custardy. I put a little bit in one palm and rubbed it into my hands. It felt silkier than other lotions I’ve tried and absorbed into my hands quickly. My hands felt soft and supple and there was no residue or greasy feeling after putting it on. I had to wash my hands some time after applying and I did not feel like my hands were dried out and needed a reapplication as I usually do.
Curious to see how it would work on a problem spot I applied a tiny dot to my left elbow, which has had a white, hard, dry texture to it for a couple of years now. Immediately I felt a pleasant, cooling sort of feeling that lasted for quite a long while. Usually when I put anything on this spot it absorbs and ten minutes later feels hard and nasty again, but that wasn’t the case with the Skin MD. My elbow felt nice and soft for the first time in a long time, and the white appearance had noticeably decreased. After three days of using this (one packet) on my elbow the problem spot has almost completely disappeared.
What apparently makes Skin MD different is that it isn’t a moisturizing lotion, it’s a shielding lotion. The lotion bonds with your skin to create a shield that will protect your skin from outside elements while allowing naturally created moisturizers to remain inside the skin where they are needed.
If you’ve got problem spots that haven’t responded well to other products, I recommend you try Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion. I am most impressed by what it’s done for my elbow. The folks at Skin MD Natural were kind enough to offer to send a 4 ounce bottle, value $18, to one lucky winner of a giveaway. If you’d like to enter this giveaway and win this bottle please leave me a comment telling me (1) what part of your body you most want to try this on and (2) one of the ingredients in Skin MD Natural (found on the ingredients page of their website SkinMdNatural.com). An additional two entries may be earned by writing about the contest on your blog, linking to both Skin MD Natural and this blog. The contest ends on Sunday June 15, 2008 at 6 pm est.
Good luck to all who enter!
THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

What great sounding lotion! I would love to try this on my hands- they stay so dry-especially between my fingers and around my knuckles. One of the ingredients in the lotion is Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera).
Thanks!

I get really dry on my arms, so I’d love to try it there. One of the ingredients is Dimethicone, I think this will work well because that is also in Aveeno & that works well for me.

Hi, I have read many great things about this lotion. The older I get, the more moisture my hands need. I am finding that on the open market, the lotions are either too greasy or just don’t help my condition. Two ingredients in this lotion are: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract and Tocopheryl
Acetate (vitamin E). Please enter me in your delightful drawing. I appreciate it. Thanks,Cindi

Sounds like a great product…I need something to help me keep what moisture I have left inside my skin where it belongs! If I were to win this, I would try it on my hands since they’re the area exposed to constant washing and need some sort of protection. One of the ingredients in this product is Arnica Montana Flower Extract (Arnica) known to help soothe aches & pains…an added bonus!!! Thanks for a great giveaway.

You know that’s probably blogger’s elbow, right? I have it, right where my elbow sits on my desk chair armrest when I’m at the computer. Similar problem alongside my left knee. I usually sit with my left leg pulled up under me and the knee is against the base of the armrest.
I just ran out of my first bottle of Skin MD Natural. Love the stuff! You know me and my allergies. Skin MD has nothing I’m allergic to, and the aloe and chamomile are so soothing.
