Review of Avon Skin So Soft Replenishing Hand Cream

Written by valmg on May 30, 2008 – 9:56 pm

Continuing on my quest for a hand cream to use at work, this is my review of Avon Skin So Soft Replenishing Hand Cream in the Soft and Sensual version.

The tube states that this cream has a “patented delivery system that will keep your hands moisturized even after washing”, and that it contains Shea butter and vitamins. The pink tube for this cream has a screw on cap with a flat end, making it able to be stood up on its end. The blurry picture on the left is of the tube as I received it from the lovely Avon lady.

I unscrew the cap and squeeze some of the cream into the palm of my hand. This cream is slightly thinner than the last Avon hand cream I reviewed but it is still thick enough that it doesn’t move when I put it in my hand. The cream is at room temperature and feels cool when I apply it, which to me feels refreshing. The picture on the right is of the cream on the back of my hand. The scent is a light floral one that I’m not crazy about and I hope fades away. After rubbing it in for a few seconds I can no longer see it. My hands feel almost like they have a slight residue on them but not quite.

After fifteen minutes my hands don’t feel parched like they usually do and the scent is still present. I am wondering what will happen after washing my hands so I decide to find out. I expected the hand cream to basically wash off after washing my hands with soap, as most do. I was surprised to find that when I started washing my hands it seemed like there was a barrier layer of some sort on them. I still smelled the scent of the hand cream as well, although it was a little fainter. I thought surely once my hands had dried and had no water left on them I’d feel like I needed to put more hand cream on, but this was not the case.

Avon Skin So Soft Replenishing Hand Cream comes in a 3.4 fluid ounce tube. It regularly sells in the catalog for $4.00 and I got mine on sale for $1.89. After using it I did feel like my hands were a bit softer and they definitely felt less dry than usual. I haven’t used it long enough to know how it works long term, but short term I can say I like it. If you’re looking for a hand cream with a lasting light, floral scent that doesn’t wear off right away you should consider this one.
