My beautiful niece was born last month. I knew she was going to be baptized and wanted to get her the perfect gift. Some would say that FillInTheBlankie creates personalized blankets. Yes I know, so do a lot of other companies. What FillInTheBlankie actually makes are ultra personalized blankets. They customize them in a way I haven’t seen before. FillInTheBlankie allows personalization of up to 200 characters, or up to 50 characters on each side of the blanket. Every blanket offered is made of 100% cotton and has four 2 inch satin edges, which is where your personalized messages are embroidered. The blankets are inspired by blankets embroidered by the real Miss Sonya.

The colorful website is very user friendly, making it very easy to order your blanket. The first step is to choose the size and style blanket that you want. Step two is to fill in the four fields, one for each side of the blanket, with the text you want embroidered on the edges. You can put whatever you want in for the text. If you need help thinking of what to put in your message there are suggestions you can use or get ideas from. Step three is to choose the style font and the thread color you want your message done in. Blankets are shipped within 2-10 days depending on which shipping option you choose.

What a terrific presentation out of the box! The blanket arrived neatly folded and tied with a satiny ribbon which had a tag attached with a safety diaper pin. I reviewed the Molly’s Very Own Herringbone style blanket in the 26″ x26″ size. This blanket was in the color Seaside Retreat and had blue thread. The blanket is 100% micro-cotton and it was really soft. The satin was slippery smooth. A verse from a Psalm was written on three of the four edges, each line flanked on both sides by a cross. The text was clear and easy to read.

Blanket pricing varies by size, ranging from $39 to $109. There are two options available where the price is not built in to the blanket. - glow in the dark thread ($12) and illustrations ($9 for an embroidered image placed before and after the text on all sides). You can also have the head and arms of a lamb, puppy, pig, frog, duck or bunny attached to your blanket. This is called a pig in a blankie and costs an additional $15.

FillInTheBlankie created the Blankie-A-Day donation program as a charitable contribution to the Childrens Medical Center in Dallas, a facility rated as one of the top pediatric providers in the nation. They have offered to donate 365 blankets to children staying in the hospital.
