Review of Full Bloom Tea

My Mom’s always been a big tea drinker. She’s also always been a great believer in centerpieces on the table. I got a chance to try something new with her this week and I shared it with her. We don’t have as much time together as we used to and she’s always asking me about the things I review so I thought it would be fun to let her help me with one. We also invited my sister in law to join in the fun, which she really needed to have since she’s expecting any day now. We reviewed Full Bloom Tea.
From the website: “When steeped in water that has been boiled, our tea blooms twist, turn, move and appear to bloom right before your eyes into amazing floral bouquets. Not only are these teas beautiful, but they also contain the finest rare Silver Needle White Tea leaves rich in antioxidants and are infused with beautiful dehydrated flowers such as Jasmine, Globe Amaranth and Marigold just to name a few which give additional flavors and health benefits to our teas. Mild in flavor, our tea blooms can be re-steeped up to 3 times each. And once you are done steeping and drinking, why not put the used bloom in a clear glass or vase with clean water to enjoy the beauty as a centerpiece or on your nightstand for an extra day or two.”

I received a tea pot and a half dozen tea blooms. Mom loved the glass tea pot. She said it was just the right size for one or two people. To make Full Bloom Tea all you need to do is unwrap a tea bloom, place it into the tea pot or a clear mug, pour boiling water in and wait. What happens next is very cool and beautiful. The tea bloom, which starts out looking a bit like a ball of grass clipping and stuff, opens up to reveal a flower. Each tea bloom can be steeped up to three times.

We enjoyed the Full Bloom Tea. The flavor was a bit milder than the regular tea bags I’m used to but my Mom (a tea drinker) told me it was good and that it was intended to be gentle and soothing. Our ladies tea for three was very enjoyable, partly due to the company and partly due to the tea. The tea bloom was a wonderful topic of conversation and visual interest. The scent was really nice and the flowers that bloomed were gorgeous. My Mom thought the glass tea pot was so nice that she snagged it (as if I could tell her no) and has it proudly out on her counter for everyone to see.

Full Bloom Teas are available for purchase in select locations in California, Washington, Michigan, Oregon, Virginia and New York as well as direct from the company website. There are thirteen types of tea blooms available, selling for $3 each of 6 for $15. The tea blooms create a unique visual presentation as well as a very fragrant tea. The tea blooms are hand tied in China and packaged individually for freshness, taste and aroma. Full Bloom also carries teaware and tea gifts. If you’re really curious, you can get a sample if you pay a nominal shipping fee. If you’re shopping for a tea lover, someone who enjoys centerpieces, someone who appreciates flowers or someone who likes unique things, check out Full Bloom Tea.

That’s really neat. I’ve never saw anything like it. I may have to order a sample.

I, like Donna before me, have never seen such a thing. This is really cool. I am a big tea drinker and want to have a little “tea party” as an excuse to hang out with my girlfriends. This would be the perfect centerpiece!
