Review of Panasonic KXTG6313S Dect 6.0 Cordless Phone Set

Written by valmg on December 4, 2008 – 10:40 pm

When our cordless phone finally died I was forced to start looking at new ones. The phone we had was part of a pair, one of which had stopped working a few months before. There are certain features I must have and others that I really like, which makes shopping for cordless phones an expensive pain in the butt. After browsing a number of models I decided to purchase the Panasonic KXTG6313S Dect 6.0 Cordless Phone.

The Panasonic KXTG6313S Dect 6.0 Cordless Phone is a 1.9 GHZ cordless system containing one base and two additional chargers. Only the base needs to be connected to the phone line, the additional chargers do not. Each phone requires two AA batteries to operate.

The phones are a little on the short side but still a reasonable size. They’re sturdy. I found the system easy to set up and the instruction book that came with it easy to understand. You can use the intercom to talk handset to handset. You can also use more than one phone on the same call. The phones also have a speakerphone function available. Seven different ring styles are available to choose from.

It’s got every feature I want. It works with Verizon’s home voicemail, so I see a message when I have voicemail waiting. After programming my voicemail access number in I can now access my voicemail at the press of one button. It has caller id and call waiting caller id. It has a night mode, which when activated turns off the ringer for that room. It’s easy to add phone numbers into the address book. The only feature I feel is missing from this phone is a backlit keypad.

I recommend this phone highly. The clarity is excellent. I’ve been able to walk three houses away from my own without losing the signal. I’ve had no interference at all, inside or out. We’ve had it for almost a month now. I had a minor problem within the first week where no numbers would show up on the caller id, only the words incoming call. The friendly gal in Panasonic Tech Support helped me resolve the problem quickly. There’d been nothing wrong with the phone, apparently someone ion my house had pressed something and deactivated the caller id. All it needed was a quick reset and we were good to go. I bought my set at 6th Avenue for $62.95, on sale from the regular price of $74.95.
