Review of PictureItPostage

Written by valmg on October 20, 2008 – 7:04 pm

Christmas is about the only time of year that I actually mail anything personal. Each year in mid to late November I send out a Christmas card from the family. I like my Christmas cards to be different. Sometimes it takes me forever to find just the right card, because I look for a certain type of card to suit my personality. Thanks to the Family Review Network, this week I was fortunate enough to get a chance to review PictureItPostage, something that will make my Christmas cards truly one of a kind.

From the website: “PictureItPostage™ is real US Postage created by Endicia™ (en-dee-shya), the leading distributor of Internet (PC) postage by volume in the United States. The Company provides a full suite of mailing and shipping solutions to businesses. Endicia received the USPS Quality Supplier Award in 1989 and the Industry Star Award in 2004.

PictureItPostage allows you to create personalized postage by putting one of your own photos onto stamps. PictureItPostage lets you use one of your own photos on a stamp. One PictureItPostage stamp is 2-1/2″ x 1-9/16″, with your photo measuring 1-1/2″ x 1-3/16″. PictureItPostage stamps can be used for any occasion including holidays, birthdays, weddings and births. PictureItPostage can also be used to promote your business by using your logo or a product.

The site is very easy to use. The first step is to upload the picture you want put onto the stamps. You can do this right online or use the free software available for Mac or Windows. Then all you need to do is edit and adjust the picture for size, orientation and color of the background and font. You’ll be able to preview your stamp as you edit it. The last step is to determine the amount of stamps you want and what amount of postage is to be on them. Each pack contains 20 stamps. Pricing varies based on the postage denomination you choose and the amount of packs you order. There is usually a reduced rate per pack if ordering more than one pack. Your stamps will arrive by mail on self adhesive labels (my favorite, no licking that nasty glue). The stamps are approved for use by the US Postal Service.

I was very pleased with PictureItPostage. It took me less than five minutes to create my stamp design. The stamps I received looked exactly like the preview I saw when designing them. The image quality was clear and the coloring excellent. I received my stamps within six days including a weekend, even though the site said to allow seven to ten days. I recommend PictureItPostage highly to anyone that wants to send an envelope guaranteed to jump up and grab the recipient’s attention.

Want to win some? Beginning on 10/31/08 PictureItPostage will be having a “Get Real” photo contest. To enter just go to the site on or after 10/31/08 and submit your worst photo. The public will vote to decide which pictures are the worst beginning on 11/21/08. Two grand prize winners will each receive a Canon Digital SLR Camera and five packs of photo stamps. Ten first prize winners will each receive one pack of postage stamps.
