Review of Yoplait Kids Yogurt Cups

Recently we received samples of Yoplait Kids Yogurt, two new nutritious yogurt products developed specifically for toddlers. Yoplait Kids come in the form of a yogurt drink and a yogurt cup. This is a review of the Yoplait Kids Yogurt Cup.
Yoplait Kids Yogurt was designed especially for toddlers as a nutritious snack. Yoplait Kids has 25% less sugar than the leading brand of kids yogurt and contains calcium, vitamins A and D, protein and Omega 3 DHA which helps promote brain development. It also contains no artificial sweeteners or flavors. My younger son, the eight year old, has Celiac disease which means he has an intolerance for gluten. That means he can’t eat most of the grocery store. For this reason, some of the things we check labels for are wheat, rye, barley, gluten and modified food starch. I checked the label, twice, for Yoplait Kids Yogurt Cups and was pleased to find it seemed to contain no gluten, which meant my younger would be able to eat it. The top left picture is of one six pack of yogurt cups as you would buy it in the store. Each cup is four ounces, a reasonable sized serving for a toddler. The upper right picture (the fuzzy one) is of one of the yogurt cups in my hand, so you get an idea of the size.
Yoplait Kids Yogurt Cups come in two flavor six packs. The available varieties are strawberry/strawberry vanilla, banana/vanilla and peach/strawberry banana. The six pack we had was the peach/strawberry banana. My older son, who’s twelve, understood this product was not really for kids his age but he really wanted to try it so I let him try a container of the strawberry banana. When he finished with his he told me it was good, that he thought it was a little less sweet than other yogurts he’s had and that the texture reminded him of the custard style yogurts he usually eats. He thought it was great that the yogurt was so smooth, because he doesn’t like chunky yogurt or yogurt with pieces of fruit in it. The picture on the bottom left is of the strawberry banana yogurt on the spoon before my son ate it.
My younger son tried a container of the peach, after he was finished pointing to Diego on the package. He ate his right up, proudly proclaiming “good” and “yum”. The picture on the bottom right is of my younger son enjoying his yogurt. I caught this picture between mouthfuls while he was telling me it was good. I noticed while my son was eating it that the yogurt stayed on the spoon nicely, not like some of the ones he’s had that slip off the side making it hard for him to eat. I myself tried the peach flavor, which was the color of a pale orange sherbet. It was tasty and not too sweet. I, like my older son, have tasted much sweeter. I thought I smelled a hint of peach when I was tasting mine. I found the texture to be sort of like a pudding but a little bit thicker.
Yoplait Kids Yogurt Cups are sold in grocery stores for approximately $2.79 for one package of six 4 ounce cups. I recommend Yoplait Kids Yogurt Cups if you have young ones and want to introduce a nutritious, tasty snack to their diet.
