Fancy Fortune Cookies review and giveaway

Written by valmg on May 17, 2009 – 1:34 pm

I know very few people that don’t like Fortune cookies. They’re a bit like Oreos - how can you not love them?! I was thrilled to receive an email from Erin asking me if I’d be willing to review Fancy Fortune Cookies.

When the box arrived I was amused to find a giant Chinese take out container, carefully packed with bubble wrap around it.

The container held about 25 Fancy Fortune Cookies. I was really pleased (and surprised) that none of them were broken.

Fancy Fortune Cookies are individually wrapped, like your average fortune cookie.

The wrapping is where the similarity to other fortune cookies ends. These aren’t your ordinary fortune cookies, on the inside or out. Fancy Fortune Cookies are extremely colorful. Fancy Fortune Cookies don’t taste like a regular fortune cookie. There are fourteen different fortune cookie flavors and the flavors can also be chocolate covered.

You can have up to five customized fortunes included at no charge. Each message can contain up to 30 characters per line and can have up to 3 lines. Your fortunes will be mixed throughout the cookies. You can even have your logo put onto your fortunes for an additional charge.

We got a mixture of cookies and I was surprised how good they all tasted. My favorites were the vanilla, orange and cool cappuccino. RB’s favorite was the coconut and TJ’s favorite was the orange. What I liked about the flavors is that they’re not too mellow and not overpowering, and that they taste fresh (unlike some of the cookies you get at a Chinese restaurant). I am quite impressed with them.

Fancy Fortune Cookies are definitely making a name for themselves. They’re a unique, customizable tasty food product. Some of the ways that the cookies could be used are for showers, weddings, party favors, icebreakers and charitable causes. Celebrities including Oprah, Donald Trump, Jackie Chan, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ozzy Osbourne have all used customized fortune cookies at their events. Corporations are also using them, both in their stores and for their employees. There’s even a Giant Fortune Cookie weighing in at just over a pound available.
