Log Cabin Syrup Review And Giveaway
Written by valmg on June 29, 2009 – 7:45 pm

Since bariatric surgery I’ve been trying to be more careful about the food choices that I make. Rather than buy completely different foods for myself then what I buy for my husband and two children I’ve been trying to make smarter food choices all around when grocery shopping. When I heard Log Cabin Syrup had reformulated it’s syrup I volunteered to try it out.
Log Cabin recently announced that it had replaced High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) with natural sugar in it’s product line. Log Cabin is one of two brands of syrup that we’ve used for years. I’d buy whichever of the two was on sale when we needed a new bottle. The Log Cabin has a clear edge now because it’s healthier to eat.
“Heritage and history are important to us, as our brand has proved to be a family household tradition since 1887″ says Allison Meyer, Associate Brand Manager of Pinnacle Foods. “That said, Log Cabin is the first brand in a long time to bring innovation to the syrup category by removing high fructose corn syrup.”
The reformulation was driven by growing consumer concerns about High Fructose Corn Syrup. Consumers are increasingly concerned about the ubiquity of high fructose corn syrup at the shelf. Several other top brands have removed or looked into the removal of high fructose corn syrup in their products.
“Log Cabin recognizes the importance of offering table syrup with natural sugar versus HFCS, as our consumers preferred the taste with natural sugar,” adds Meyer. Reformulated Log Cabin syrup can be found on store shelves across the country in Log Cabin Original Flavor and Log Cabin Lite flavors. Log Cabin Sugar Free is also sold at stores across the country.

I received a bottle of Log Cabin HFCS free Original syrup to try.We tried it on waffles and pancakes. We thought the taste was very similar to the previous formulation but the texture was thinner, making it seem a bit more appealing and a bit less sticky. The color was also not quite as dark. We’ll definitely be buying it again.

I usually use Log Cabin (honestly), but with the economy
we’ve been cutting back and I’ve been trying other stuff and using coupons. Nothing really tastes as good as Log Cabin. It would be nice to win a free bottle. Thanks for the chance.

I visited your mom’s blog and learned that even thought Continental Airlines will NEVER receive my business again, you and your family deserve my respect and admiration for your service to our country. Please tell your brother thank you for his military service and we appreciate everything he does for our freedom.
God bless America!!
