MJM Books Personalized Children’s Books Review And Giveaway

Written by valmg on July 14, 2009 – 8:15 pm

My Mother read to me as a young child. As I grew older she read with me and then encouraged reading on my own. I’m very glad she did because now I love to read. I think all children should have a value for reading and education.

One way to get children interested in reading is to get them involved, to find a book that will interest them. What subject is more interesting to a child then themselves? MJM Books wants to help parents engage their child’s interest in reading by offering customized children’s books. The book features the child as the main character. What makes these books unique is that the parents design the look of the child in the book including gender, hair color and style, skin tone and eye color. There are currently three different books available for customization - “If I Were Big”, “A Day At The Park” and “What Animal Are You”.

I was offered the opportunity to create a personalized children’s book for this review. I chose to customize the title “What Animal Are You”.The customization process is very easy and only takes a couple of minutes. A preview of the character you’re creating updates in real time. The only suggestion I have for the creation process is to offer glasses - they’d help children that wear glasses relate to the character.

Just behind the glossy cover lies the cover page, stating the name of the child starring in the book and showing the image you designed. You can also include a personal message to your child on the cover page. The first page of the book asks the reader what kind of animal the book’s character is. The following pages contain images containing part or all of your child’s face and asking a series of questions. Toward the end there is room for a special question. The last page proudly lets the reader discover that the character is actually their self. I love that the book is so colorful and really tries to draw the reader in. The book is printed on 100% recycled paper.

MJM customized children’s books are priced at $15.95 and are available to purchase online.
