myEARTH360 Review And Giveaway
Written by valmg on August 26, 2009 – 4:00 am

More and more people are trying to be more aware of the impact they have on the environment. Companies such as myEARTH360 make green, sustainable products for home use.
I received three of their products to try - the SKOY cloth, VerTerra Eco-Friendly Party-Ready Plates and Aspenware Biodegradable Wood Utensils.

Before I tell you about the SKOY cloth, let me ask you a question. Did you know if every person lowered their use of paper towels by one roll, we would save 544,000 trees? I know, wow! The SKOY cloth is a natural, reusable multi-use cloth made from cotton and wood pulp cellulose and can be used instead of paper products and sponges. It’s about the same size as a paper towel but much more absorbent. You can even clean it in your dishwasher or washing machine. I liked that the SKOY cloth felt strong. It wore very well with daily kitchen use. I haven’t run it through the washing machine but I did put it in the dishwasher and it came out fine. One SKOY cloth will save 15 rolls of paper towels over the lifetime of the cloth and only costs $7.99 for a four pack. That’s impressive!

The second product I received was a VerTerra Eco-Friendly Plate. These disposable plates are chemical and bleach free and are made from fallen palm leaves. These plates are made using fair wage labor and sustainable production methods. The plates are non-toxic and safe to use in the microwave, oven and refrigerator. The plates are available in several sizes including 6″x6″, 8″x8″, and 10″x10″. After you use the plate you can put it into your compost bin and it will biodegrade after two months. After using my sample plate I tried to break it - that took a little effort. These plates were very nice looking. I have to be honest, as noble as the reason behind this product is, it’s too expensive to use once and throw away for my family.

The last product I received was Aspenware Biodegradable Wood Utensils. These utensils are made from birch and aspen and are also compostable and biodegradable. We haven’t used these yet but what I immediately noticed about these utensils is they seemed much sturdier than plastic utensils. They are quite a bit more expensive than plastic utensils though.
You can learn more about these and other products from myEARTH360 by visiting their site at myEARTH360.com.

I like the english retreads bags, especially the deluxe tote. They have a great classic shape and non one would know that they were recycled.
