New Wave Enviro Review And Giveaway
Written by valmg on June 16, 2009 – 9:21 pm

The folks at New Wave Enviro contacted me to ask if I’d like to review their newest product, a Bamboo Lunch Bag. Feeling both curious and skeptical, I agreed.
The first thing I wanted to do was learn a bit about New Wave Enviro Products. New Wave Enviro makes products that address some of the health and environmental issues that face our society. Landfills are piled high with products that waste resources and jeopardize our health. New Wave Enviro offers reusable eco-friendly products that families can use as a simple, positive step towards saving the environment. The company has been in business for more than fifteen years and their main focus has been the manufacture and distribution of their line of water products.

New Wave Enviro’s newest product is an environmentally friendly lunch bag, made of 100% bamboo. They decided to create the Bamboo Lunch Bag in order to address the growing amount of disposable plastic bags filling up landfills. The company chose bamboo, the fastest growing plant on earth, because it has a strength comparable to steel and regenerates without planting. Bamboo grows without use of chemicals and pesticides and is naturally anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic. I received one of the lunch bags for this review. I was blown away as soon as I opened it up and examined it. The 6″ x 6.5″ x 10″ green lunch bag has a soft and silky, linen like feel. The material feels very sturdy and yet the bag is surprisingly light. I am still amazed that bamboo could be turned into a bag like this.

I also received two BPA-Free water bottles, a 1 liter personal bottle and a .250 liter lunch box bottle. These bottles are made of Eastar Resin. Unlike the single serve bottles from water purchased in stores, these bottles are designed to withstand frequent use. The bottles should be cleaned with vinegar and water, baking soda and water or soap and water.
The 1 liter Personal bottle has a sports cap and cover and is available in Blue, Purple, Mint Green, Glacier Blue, Pink, and Turquoise. The .250 liter Lunch Box bottle is available in blue, purple and red. The Eastar Resin bottles feel very strong and sturdy. I like that the cap is attached, so it can’t be dropped or lost.
New Wave Enviro Products can be purchased at select retailers across the nation as well as through some online retailers. They offer the fantastic Bamboo Lunch Bag, a line of BPA-Free water bottles, 304 grade stainless steel water bottles and filters, shower filters, a bath tub filter and stainless steel lunch containers.
GIVEAWAY
One winner will receive a set of the same three products I reviewed - the Bamboo Lunch Bag, a 1 liter BPA-Free Water Bottle and a .250 liter BPA-Free Water Bottle.

i am the bag lady of coppell…if dh shops and forgets our bags, i use the plastic grocery bags until they won’t hold anything and then put them in the recycling bin. i have lots of cloth bags that carry anything from lunch to yarn. warning, if you are taking a craft of hot tea to work, do not put it in a cloth bag. it will tip over and the button will get pushed and you will have a lap of boiling hot tea in your lap with severe burns…do not ask me how i know!

We use regular old lunch boxes here but I’ve been buying and using a lot of bamboo products right now so I’d love to try this.

Now we use lunch boxes. However, I’m still ashamed that we don’t have good reusable water bottles to bring, so we have to resort to juice boxes.
