Refresh’n Dryer Towel review and giveaway
Written by valmg on January 11, 2009 – 4:48 pm

I am not a big fan of doing laundry. It isn’t that it’s difficult. Everyone in our house has their own hamper or laundry basket and uses it. It’s just such a pain because it’s so time consuming to wash, dry and put it all away. I don’t mix different people’s laundry, there are less misplaced items and sorting that way. Also, CJ broke out in hives once and we don’t know why so we don’t ever change his detergent. I do 1-2 loads per week for CJ, 1-2 loads per week for TJ, 2 loads per week for RB and 1-2 loads per week for myself.
In case that wasn’t enough, I have to wear a uniform four days a week where I work, which turns into another load. The thing about my work shirts is that unless I’ve accidentally spilled something, the clothes aren’t exactly dirty. It always seems like such a waste to do a whole load of wash for four shirts that don’t really look dirty. Mostly all they look is wrinkled. That’s why I was glad to be offered a chance to try a Refresh’n Dryer Towel.

From the website - “The Refresh’n Dryer Towel will clean and freshen undesirable, previously worn, slightly dirty, odorized, lifeless, wrinkled clothing into fresh, ready-to-wear articles in a matter of 10 – 15 minutes, without the need for washing.”
The Refresh’n Dryer Towel provides similar results to steam cleaning. The all natural towel contains no chemicals or fabric treatments. One towel and can be used up to 25 times. According to the usage and instructions, one towel will clean three pieces of clothing and two towels will clean eight. To use the Refresh’n Dryer Towel you just place the items you want to clean in your dryer. Then, wet the towel, wring it out and put it into the dryer flat on top of the clothes and let it dry. In ten to fifteen minutes the clothes are finished. The steam will have killed the bacteria and odor and will have trapped the dirt, lint and dust in the weave of the towel. You can check out the product commercial on the how it works page.
I liked the towel. My shirts were a bit crisper and felt softer. They had a clean smell even though they didn’t really have a scent. Cleaning with the towel saved a lot of time, instead of taking 90-120 minutes to do one load of laundry this one was done in less then 20 minutes. I think it’s ideal for items of clothing only worn for a couple of hours, items of clothing coming out of seasonal storage, items of clothing that just need to be freshened up and those times where you have a couple of items of clothing you want to remove wrinkles from.
Using this towel saved a whole wash cycle of water. Considering that one load of laundry uses 40-50 gallons of water, one Refresh’n Dryer Towel could save about 700 gallons of water. If you’re into numbers, one towel can also save about $365 in dry cleaning costs and 90 kwh of electricity.
It would be a great selling point if the towels were offered for sale in different sizes so they could be purchased by the need. I’d like a slightly bigger one so I could clean all four of my shirts. Maybe a slightly smaller one for a special top or dress.
Refresh’n Dryer Towels are manufactured by Dick Pepper Enterprises, located in San Marcos, CA. They can be purchased online and at many natural grocery stores throughout California, as well as over 30 all natural E-stores/catalogs. A single pack costs $9.99 and a double pack costs $17.95.

Holy Cow! This is brilliant. I warm up my son’s coat in the mornings and every once and awhile I notice its not so fresh. This would totally solve the issue without wasting dryer sheets…

These are so neat. My husband will love using these for his work clothes. It seems he waits until last minute to say he’s out of clean khakis and since this only takes 20 minutes it would really help him out on those days.

Hi
While at work I stumbled on your blog site. Cool. Refreshing my barely worn clothes without actually spending the time to launder them is awesome!! I hate putting worn clothes back into the closet, Febreeze was usually spritzed just to freshen. But, if wrinkles can be “steamed” away…I’m all for it.

What a cool towel, I have the same thing with work clothes. I don’t want to wash them and waste the water or take them to the dry cleaner every week. It blew me away the 40 50 gallons of water to do wash! Wow, you never really think about that. Thanks for the opportunity :).
