Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Giveaway

[ 99 ] July 1, 2010 |

Have you seen the trailer for the upcoming Disney movie The Sorcerer’s Apprentice? I have and I think it looks great. In case you haven’t seen it, here it is.

Here’s the synopsis, which explains a little about that preview.

THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE is an innovative and epic comedy adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil. Balthazar Blake (NICOLAS CAGE) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (ALFRED MOLINA). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (JAY BARUCHEL), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE.

Now if you’re like me when you think of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” you think of the Disney movie Fantasia featuring Mickey Mouse. That is one of my Mom’s all time favorite movies. You have to admit when you consider the age of that movie that the graphics and animation were awesome and ahead of their time. I can’t wait to see how they incorporate some of the Fantasia story into this movie. Here’s an advance clip I received of the part of the movie where the mops are coming to life, what some are calling “the coolest scene ever”.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is coming to theaters on July 14, 2010.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie, aren’t you!

Counting Pixar (as in Disney/Pixar) then it would be The Incredibles (still waiting for that sequel… hint hint…), but if Pixar doesn’t count then I love the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Thanks for the giveaway, I would love either prize for my son! Thanks!
